We’re always amazed when we find a handful of famous people who happen to share the same birthday, as is the case on January 17th. They’re all Capricorns who take care of business and make us laugh in the process! Funny lady Betty White, crazy slapstick comedian Jim Carrey and the late goofball Andy Kaufman were all three born on this date. In fact, so was Mr. Darth Vader himself, James Earl Jones and yes, even the light-on-his feet heavy hitter Mahammad Ali was born Cassius Clay on this day. That’s not all, either, as the graceful, charming and sophisticated First Lady Michelle Obama also celebrates a birthday on January 17th. The star power generated on this day is remarkable! Happy Birthday to these Capricorns and to all of the sea goats out there. Efficiency and hilarity are just two of your specialties!

Betty White is a comedic icon and the last remaining Golden Girl. Note to White: It’s Facebook, not Facelift; two things you know nothing about. Which is good! Ms. White is obviously very well-preserved and plastic surgery just wouldn’t work for her, anyway, girl’s gotta show that golden smile from all that laughing she provokes! She probably wouldn’t be able to smile at all if she looked like Joan Rivers.

I remember Betty as the super-sexed up Sue-Ann Nivens on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show.” Sue-Ann was known for her horny banter and she oncer said, “When I die, I want to be creamated and have my ashes thrown on Robert Redford.”

Jim Carrey first made a fool of himself as Fire Mashall Bill on the very funny 1990’s Fox sketch comedy show “In Living Color.” He played pretty much every character under the sun on that show and made us laugh uncontrollably. I remember Jim from one of his early films, he was the object of a 400-year-old vampire (talk about Cougar!) played by Lauren Hutton in a movie called “Once Bitten.” Carrey has been a pet detective, a Lemony Snicket and even a Truman. This rubber-faced man is very funny and possibly even quite crazy.

Andy Kaufman was famously slapped by WWE color commentator Jerry “The King” Lawler on “Late Night with David Letterman.” Andy was a wrestling fan who was mightier than a mouse yet couldn’t go toe-to-toe with the meathead grappler from Memphis. The “work” (or skit in wrestling lingo) garnered a lot of attention and Kaufman became a man larger than his comedy. He met an untimely death and is forever a legend.

“This is CNN” — The Godly voice of James Earl Jones is known throughout the world. The extraordinary actor voiced Mufasa in the wildly popular Lion King. My cousin was a kid at the time and he’d play that damn move over and over and over again I could recite the lines verbatim! Of course, what James Earl Jones is known for especially is his work on Star Wars as the trecherous Darth Vader!Muhammad Ali floated to the boxing ring like a butterfly and his trademark trash talk and strong words, along with his powerful blows, would sting like a thousand bees!

Michelle Obama is a graceful, charming woman but one look at her and you can tell she’s got a great sense of humor! She just likes to laugh and it shows. I know she has to put on that serious face a lot but if you watch the way she interacts with people, it doesn’t take long for you to see her shining qualities — a winning way with people and a good sense of humor and lightheartedness.
