Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and those slain or injured during the horrible tragedy in Tucson, Arizona. Gabby, an exuberant Gemini who visited her district often quite regularly, represents her constituents with ardor, enthusiasm and compassion. A lot of elected officials in Washington get hooked on life in D.C. and rarely go back to their districts but Gabby made it a point to stay actively involved in the lives of those she represents.
The crazy sonofabitch who shot those people had a grievance with the government and chose to slaughter innocent human beings to make some sort of sick statement.
Gabby, hold on and come back because the people of Arizona need you now more than ever! Her district was often contentious but her infectious humor and love of laughter were apparent, even when watching her in sound bites.
